Dear #IoT #Lazyweb (esp Mr @fast_code_r_us) established wisdom (i..e 20 mins of googling and scrolling past the AI Lies) is that the ESP32-CAM camera module is too wimpy to generate native portrait-format JPEG's on-device (either by rotating them or adding magic metadata). Anyone know different?

Manufacturers are not moving very quickly on #thread #matter enabled #IoT sensors. It would be great if someone like @azonenberg or @gsuberland or someone could be nerdsniped into building a reference board or #crowdsupply which has footprint for all the usual sensors like #CO2, #VOC, #temperature, #humidity, etc. With provisions for both battery power and USB-C.
I'd happily buy a bunch of #privacy respecting crowdsupply ones.

I make #OpenSource smart #thermostats that don't spy on you. I don't ship internationally for two reasons: financial cost and environmental cost. I'd like to join a network of Makerspaces to have them be produced regionally so people outside of America can get a pre-made unit.
Does this network already exist? If so, how do I join? If it doesn't exist, would you like to help build it?
