So, after some tinkering around near the power connector, my black EeePC 901 is booting up. Not sure if it's the pin inside the connector or if it's the cable. My universal power adapter won't work with this, so I have to use the 900a's adapter. Something's intermittent because it will shut off, so I can only assume it's that connector itself. Maybe it needs to be resoldered on properly, but I'll have to check that to be sure.

It lives, but it's not 100% how I want it (some broken pieces from the inside sit atop the palmrest). Now that I know how to open this thing up, I'm going to see about a replacement touchpad button for the left click and possibly a replacement AC connector. Gonna have to dust off my soldering iron and see if I still have the skills to do some resoldering.

Last time I did this, I replaced a capacitor on a 1st-gen Apple Basestation access point. That was about 15 years ago. Just sayin'...
